In this video I fit a starter motor to an outboard that was pull-start only. That means wiring a starter relay, or solenoid, and finding the right wire from the forward control's key switch to work it. There's also a short demonstration of how to "hot wire" an outboard: take great care with that, since the high current and sparks are dangerous around fuel vapour.
