For Renko I chose a Savwinch stainless steel drum winch. Paul and I make the doubler plate it mounts on and test fit it on the front of the wheelhouse, stripping the old paint from the steel with a Tercoo rotating blaster as we go.

Then the permanent installation: Doran helps me cut the samson post off the foredeck and shorten it so it clears the winch drum. Once it's welded back on I pad weld the deck and paint it, ready for the winch to be bolted down.
