An inboard engine's exhaust is either wet or dry. A wet exhaust mixes the raw water from the cooling system into the exhaust gas, which cools it enough to run through rubber hose and a muffler out through the hull. A dry exhaust carries the hot gas up through the boat in steel pipe to a stack above the cabin, like a truck's, so it needs lagging and care where it passes through the boat. There are advantages and disadvantages to both. In this video I look at an example of each to help decide which way to go with Renko.
I went with a dry exhaust. In this video I install its first version, with a few tweaks still to come to the flex joint at the engine and a new stack at the outlet end.
Back from Coast Marine, Renko gets a speed test, and I wrap the muffler with exhaust cloth.
