AmazonAll outboard motors have a small fuel filter inside them, but a larger external water separating filter is a great way to protect the motor from dirt or water in the fuel. Its clear bowl lets you keep an eye on the quality of the fuel you're running. In this video I fit one to my boat, the Green Machine.
Dual diesel filters on Renko
On Renko, my steel trawler, I fitted a pair of Vetus water separating diesel filters, so I can switch from one to the other and change a filter without stopping the engine.
