Taking a boat out along the coast needs more preparation than a day on the river. Getting Renko ready for her first coastal voyage, down to Sydney, I clean and paint the bilge, put ballast in the lazarette, fit LED lighting, a VHF radio and a safety chain across the boarding opening, and clear the deck.
Heading north up the Queensland coast, from Cleveland across Moreton Bay to the Tangalooma Wrecks, then into Mooloolaba, before crossing the Wide Bay bar into Tin Can Bay.
Then heading back south: finding a weather window to take Renko offshore from the Gold Coast, stopping at Coffs Harbour, and getting as far as Forster.
